Pregnancy Safe Cheese

Pregnancy Safe Cheese

£39.00

We’ve had a lot of requests for cheeses that are safe to eat during pregnancy, so we’ve put together a selection for all the expectant mothers out there.

NHS advises that if pregnant, you should avoid mould ripened soft cheeses such as brie, soft blue cheeses and any unpasteurised soft cheeses. All hard cheeses, pasteurised or not are considered safe, harder blues such as Stilton are considered safe as are pasteurised soft cheeses such as mozzarella and feta. Soft cheeses, even if unpasteurised are safe if cooked until steaming hot, the same goes for soft blue cheeses.

So, with that in mind we’ve put together a variety of cheeses that are safe to eat during pregnancy.

Wijngaard Goat Gouda - hard goats cheese doesn’t get much better than this. Smooth, clean and absolutely delicious.

Westcombe Cheddar - all hard cheeses are considered safe to eat, pasteurised or not and Westcombe (unpasteurised) is one of the finest cheddars around.

Cornish Yarg - becoming a household name, Cornish Yarg is wrapped in nettles and tastes as good as it looks.

Red Wine Farmer - beautiful washed Gruyere that is bursting with flavour.

We think this is a good mix that should provide a good cheese fix for all expectant mothers out there.

We also include a box of crackers and some chutney in this selection.

Please note all cheeses are subject to availability.
